Healthcare, Research and Knowledge Transfer

During graduate school, I joined a healthcare research organization led by scholar Dr. Marcus Hollander and remained part of their group for more than fifteen years. Hollander Analytical Services Ltd. studied long-term healthcare to find ways to serve patients, healthcare professionals, family members, and community care givers. My responsibilities were for knowledge dissemination and research transfer. Over the years I progressed from working on individual reports to holding the position of Scientific Advisor. It was an extraordinary learning experience that lasted more than fifteen years until Dr. Hollander retired. I was honored to support such important work, and grateful to be able to learn from Dr. Hollander who is one of the most focused and meticulous scholars I have encountered. Hollander Analytical Services Ltd. published numerous reports and journal articles, collaborated with multiple universities, and was awarded several research grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) in support of their research. My time with them taught me a great deal about how to conduct scholarly research in healthcare, and Dr. Hollander taught us all how to lead research teams in a thoughtful, productive, and collegial manner.
